Axis Wheels Project Vehicles

Welcome to our Project Vehicles headquarters. Here we feature vehicles produced with the cooperation of many industry involved sponsors. Be sure to click to enlarge photos.
2002 Nissan 350Z (Drift/Road Race Car) - Our drift/race car was a Nissan 350Z that went on a 700lb diet. Everything that did not serve a purpose for racing is removed for the sake of speed. The wheels are Axis Hiro 19x8.5 (front) and 19x9.5 (rear) for drifting with Toyo T1-S 245/35-19 and 275/35-19 and for road course we chose the Axis Reverb in 18x9.5 with 275/35R18 Toyo RA-1 in the front and 305/35r18 Toyo RA-1s on 18x10.5 Reverbs on the rear. The car has a full roll cage complete with Sparco Seats, huge Stop Tech brakes and a Procharger Super Charger with JE piston and Carrillo Rods, complimented by Nismo cams and headers and running at 10 psi. The engine was custom built by Maverick Motorsports for us. Now we have a 500hp car weighing in at 2700lbs. We won third place over all in Super Unlimited Class last year with NASA! Come see us race our 350Z this year with NASA Pro Racing's SoCal region!

2003 Lamborghini Murcielago - Our fastest project car, the Murcielago is capable in accelerating from 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of just over 200mph (verified by James himself) the 6.2 liter 580hp V-12 sits midship drowning out the Pioneer sound system with Focal speakers and amps. We are prototyping new Axis/EXE wheels in 19x9.0 in the front and 20x13 in the rear wearing 235/35-19 front and 345/25-20 rear.

2003 Mitsubishi Evo - Painted the now famous "AXIS YELLOW" pearl yellow paint job and wearing a C West body kit, Carbon Fiber hood and interior trim with full Alcantara seats, dash and trim. Big Brembo brakes front and rear give James the "WHOA!" he needs on the street and the track. The "GO!" James can't live without is given by an APEXi power FC, HKS camshafts, larger RC injectors and a Rhys Millen down pipe. On the street our Evo wears 18x8.5 Axis Halo with "yellow pinstripes" and 245/40-18 Toyo R888 R-compound tires. When James takes to the track, the Evo sports our 18x9.5 Axis Reverb on all four corners with 265/35-18 Yokohama Advans A048.

2008 Scion xB - Our 2008 xB was intended to be our delivery truck! First we added our staggered Axis Shines on it, with 19x8.5 front and a 19x9.5 rear. Next, we put the Axis Groove on it, and James got the mod-itch for the xB and we knew we were about to lose our delivery truck. Finally, James drove it home "just for tonight", only to bring it back a few days later with a set of staggered Axis Gravity, a Sprint Suspension, TRD rear wing and a 5 Axis body kit. We gained a sweet looking project vehicle, but now we need another delivery truck!

2002 Nissan 350Z - Our "show" 350Z consists of Axis Milano wheels in 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear with Yokohama AVS Sport 245/35-19 front and 295/35-19 rear The car is painted PPG chrome yellow with a gold pearl clear coat. Engine upgrades include a Procharger Supercharger, with JIC exhaust, JIC coil over suspension, custom yellow suede seats re-upholstery by Stitchcraft, painted color matched interior by Wet Works, a complete DVD / audio system by Pioneer. Just to see how much "go" went with the "show", we entered this car in the 2003 Ultimate Street Car Challenge by Sport Compact Car Magazine- and it won! Not too bad for a "show car".

2001 Ferrari F360 Modena F1 - Axis first supercar, with the Axis Se7en 3 piece modular wheels, 19x8.5 front and 19x10.5 rear with Yokoham AVS Sport 235/35ZR-19 in the front and 295/35ZR-19 in the rear. In the interior Sparco seats made of Carbon Fiber were upholstered with yellow suede material. The Ferrari finished off with a Tubi exhaust for that F1 soundtrack. Sound system is a Sony ES system with four 8 inch subwoofers in a bolsa wood enclosure for weight savings.

2005 Ford F350 Superduty - Our vehicle of choice to haul our race trailer around. It is upgraded with Banks Power Six Gun Speed Loaded, techni-cooler and upgraded boost pipe and down pipes. Torque is in the 800 foot range. Suspension is a Skyjacker lift kit and the wheels are 20x10 Axis Warlocks with Toyo Open Country M/T 37x13.50-20. The truck is equipped with a train horn and an on board air compressor, AMP research retractable steps, carbon fiber interior, Hella Driving lights a Magnaflow exhaust as well as a host of other goodies.

2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser - We saw the spy photos for the new FJ and knew we had to have one. Tonka Truck looks and Toyota reliability are going to make the FJ the hot new truck for this summer. We've added our 16x9 Regulators with 285/75R16 Toyo Open Country M/T Tires so we can enjoy the off road coil over suspension from Donahoe Racing that gives the FJ a 3" lift. PIAA lights mount to the ARB bumper/brush guard, and give the FJ a mean look that is topped off with an electric Warn wench.

2004 Nissan Armada - Our Armada build for off road excursions is matched with Axis War-Lock wheels in 20x10, the oversized tires are from Toyo measuring 325/55-20. The SUV was expertly painted by Wet Works in the famous PPG chrome yellow while the external roll cage was build by Twisted Tin. Equipped with a custom front bumper to hold a Warn Winch to get the vehicle out of trouble, and illuminated by 10 PIAA lights this truck is ready for any adventure.

2001 VW Golf GTi - One Sport Compact we chose to tune was our VW 2003 Golf GTi turbo. 19 inch SuperMesh start the look with 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the rear - that's right, we went STAGGERED on it! 235/35R19 in the front and 265/30R19 Toyo Proxies T1S help the Golf stick the the ground in conjunction with a Neuspeed Suspension with coil overs, springs and sway bars. Sparco seats in the front and re-upholstered rear seats in Sparco's Suede set the interior off and help keep driver and passengers alike firmly planted in the seats.

2000 Porsche 996 - Our Porsche is present with the Axis Se7en 3 piece wheels in 19x8.5 (front) and 19x10.5 rear with Toyo T1S in 235/35-19 and 275/30-19. The car is a factory Porsche "speed yellow" in color with a factory GT3 body kit. the car is lowered with CROSS coil over from JIC and complimented by a all Boston Acoustic speaks, subwoofer and amplifiers. Finishing it off with Auto Authority Sport Mufflers to complete the rear end.

1999 Toyota Tundra - Our Pre-Runner Truck is the Toyota Tundra, it was painted yellow to match the Ferrari 360 Modena. For its off road duty we equipped it with Regulator 16x9.0 with the simulated bead lock rings. The tires are Yokohama Geolander MT 285/75-16. To up the power, we installed a TRD supercharger and matching stainless steel headers and dual exhaust. In the interior you will find Custom TRD bucket seats and a full Eclipse sound system. The lift was done by Fabtech, featuring a Fox coil over suspension set up.

1994 Land Rover Defender 90 - The Off Roader is running on Axis Regulators in 16x9.5 with matching yellow bead lock rings and Yokohama Geolander M/T 285/75-16. Suspension enhancement includes Old Man Emu springs for a 2 inch lift and full Bilstein shock and steering stabilizer. ARB front bumper and WARN winch compliments the front bumper , while ARB air lockers in the front and rear enhances traction. It is equiped with a full Rockford Fosgate sound system with 12 inch subwoofers and Sparco racing bucket seats with seat backs painted the same color. Addtional lighting provided by PIAA with fog lights , driving lights and pencil beam lights.

2002 Saturn ION - We received a Saturn ION from Saturn corporation to make it look nice for trade shows and magazines. We started by painting the car what else.... Axis Yellow. We then installed some 19 inch TC EVO in graphite and painted the rings in yellow to match the car. Then we installed a Saturn motor sport turbo charger to give the car some power. Top it off with Sparco seats and Wings West Body kit. We think our ION turned out to be pretty sweet.

2001 Infiniti Q45 - Our Luxury Sedan choice is a Infiniti Q45, we chose the car because is not all over every street corner in LA. We fitted the Q with Axis VIP in 20x8.5 (front) and 20x11.0 (rear) The tire choice this time was the Yokohama AVS Sport with 245/40-20 (front) and 275/35-20 (rear) wrapped around the gigantic 4 inch rear lip. We imported a Japan only Wise Sport body kit and lowered with Eibach springs and re-upholstered the interior with Grey suede insert to match the Ecru leather. Coming out the rear in is a Magnaflow stainless muffler. Check out the rear tires, the VIP look is back!

2005 Bentley GT - Our GT car to cover great distance in style and grace. Equipped with the 22 inch Bespoke Crewe wheel shod with 295/25ZR22 Pirelli P-Zero Rosso on all four corners. Power is upgraded to 625HP using GIAC engine tuning and the suspension is lowered 50mm using the factory air suspension. This GT is capable of running just over 200mph.

2003 Nissan Hypermini - With the fuel prices reaching $3.00 a gallon for premium unleaded, we decide to do the right thing by driving a electric car to commute on a weekly basis. Our choice - an imported Nissan Hypermini from Japan. The vehicle is street legal (in Japan) and will reached speeds up to 60mph, albeit with the short wheelbase the car is challenging to drive at that speed. It has a range of 40 miles when charged, making our commute very limited. We also use the Hypermini as a pit vehicle when we go to track events.

2005 Nissan Frontier Truck - We worked with Go Kart manufacturer Track Magic in building a Mini Truck to transport go karts around for the show circuit. We installed Axis 22 inch diameter TITAN on the truck with a black finish on the driver side and silver center finish on the passenger side. We also lowered the truck by 3 inches in the front and 4 inches in the rear. We had Sir Michaels make a custom roll pan to replace the rear bumper. We also asked our friends at Wet Works Garage to make a custom front grill as at the time of the project, as no manufacturer has made a grill available yet.

2002 Nissan 350Z Twin Turbo - Our third 350Z is our daily driver, in addition to our "show" and "race" this is the driver Z. We picked a conservative silver stone gray color to blend in the traffic. But underneath the sheeps exterior is a wolf in disguise. Speaking of Wolf, we use the Wolf Technology Twin Turbo set-up to power our VQ35. Putting down more than 435hp at the wheels, we have to stop with with Brembo brakes, handle on a Full NISMO suspension, and also use a Nismo exhaust, clutch, flywheel, differential and a host of other hop up parts from NISMO. Wheels are AXIS Hiros 19x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rears with 255/35-19 front and 295/30-19 rear Continentals. This vehicle just won the Road & Track / Speed 350Z tuner shoot out.
